Usually need plans for doing scale ship models. Sadly, no everyone get ship introducking plan from ship firm or yard. I researched about them and asked from Silja Europa builder the Mayer werft and they replyed me they may not give ship plans away. but still, I asked for copies not about original. Ship modeling without plans is almost impossible but I didn't stop dreaming and try to build just this ship. The modeling hobby group have lots of difference ship drawings but no Silja Europa.
One idea jumped in my head to draw Silja Europa in needed size. It was wery complicated work because I hadn't been on the Europa for this time while I did these drawings. I had some internet photos and some poor view of the ferry. The first try went wery wrong because stern got too long and bow too tiny. I didn't finished with testing and drew it again. The second plan becam in needed size.
Nothing impossible and I did my the best for build the Silja Europa model but the hands made plans are not as original plans. These are better than nothing and help more than nothing. For doing hull, need some special drawing about hull shape. One older ferry helped me out but. It had boxy stern and long and thick bow. This was longer than was needed and I shaped around the bow and stern parts. So the building progress had begun finally.
I drew these plans in end of 2008, some month before constructing.
